Η απώλεια μιας ψυχής
‘’Η απώλεια μιας ψυχής’’ είναι ένα φωτογραφικό project που αποτυπώνει ανθρώπινες ιστορίες με κυρίαρχο συναίσθημα την απώλεια. Τον Αύγουστο 2024 ο αδελφικός μου φίλος έχασε τον πατέρα του, ξυπνώντας έτσι τις δικές μου αναμνήσεις όπου πριν 23 χρόνια επίσης είχα βιώσει την απώλεια του δικού μου πατέρα. Αρχικά δημιουργήθηκαν πέντε βιωματικές εξιστορήσεις ανθρώπων σε μορφή ηχητικών καταγραφών, στο πλαίσιο συζήτησης αλλά και ενδόμυχης εξομολογήσεις.
Μέσα από τις προσωπικές αλλά αληθινές συζητήσεις εμπνεύστηκα την προσέγγιση των ιστοριών αλλά και την οπτικοποίηση των συναισθημάτων τους.
Το φωτογραφικό μέσο δεν λειτουργεί απλά σαν καταγράφει ενός αληθινού γεγονός, αλλά δημιουργεί μια σειρά εικόνων με κύριο πρωταγωνιστή τον ανθρώπινο ψυχισμό.
The Loss of a Soul
The Loss of a Soul is a photographic project that documents human stories united by the experience of loss. In August 2024, a close lifelong friend lost his father, an event that awakened my own memories of losing my father twenty-three years earlier.
The project originated from five personal testimonies recorded as audio narratives through conversations and deeply intimate confessions. These accounts served not only as documentation of lived experiences but also as a source of inspiration for approaching and visualizing the emotions that run through them.
Through the photographic medium, the project moves beyond the simple representation of a real event and becomes an artistic exploration of the human psyche. The images do not seek to narrate death itself, but rather to convey the traces left behind by absence: memory, silence, grief, love, and the enduring presence of those who are no longer physically here.
Photography functions as a bridge between personal and collective experience, inviting viewers to confront their own experiences of loss and to search within them for the light that continues to endure.
